NYC, Washington DC, Nashville and Greensboro North Carolina – Day seventeen

Hey there, folks! It’s your favorite cheeky blogger here, reporting back on our adventures in the good ol’ US of A. We’ve had seventeen days of pure fun, and the last five of those have been spent with our lovely cousin Julie in Greensboro, North Carolina. Let me tell you, after the hustle and bustle of NYC, Washington DC, and Nashville, we needed a lazy start to our day. We deserve it, right?

House hunting

Now, let’s talk about this house-hunting business. We’ve been on the lookout for a new nest for our dear cousin Julie, but let me tell you, it’s been one crazy ride. The market here is what they call a seller’s market, which means the prices are sky-high. I’m talking 10-20% over the original asking price! It’s like a real estate version of “The Price Is Right,” but with fewer happy winners.

We even made an offer on a house, went over the asking price, and you know what happened? Rejected! Can you believe it? I’m starting to think they’re holding out for a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. But fear not, my friends. We’re now looking at new builds on the same estate, and guess what? They’re actually asking for less than the offers that were rejected. Go figure!

Ah, the North Carolina sun. It’s been shining down on us again today, and boy, it’s significantly warmer than yesterday. I’m loving every ray of sunshine, even though my back is giving me some grief. But fear not, for I have my lovely wife Michele and cousin Julie fussing over me like mother hens. They’re armed with tablets and creams, ready to pounce on any sign of discomfort. If they keep this up, I might start feeling like a fancy spa treatment instead of a regular ol’ traveler.

Evening meal

Speaking of treatments, we went out for tea (or dinner, as they call it here) at CB7. And let me tell you, they had an excellent choice of beer. Ah, beer, my old friend. At least with beer, the girls won’t try to force those pesky ibuprofen tablets down my throat. Cheers to that!

Well, my friends, the alarm is now set for an ungodly hour of 07:00. We have an early flight from Greensboro to NYC at 10:10. So, it’s time to bid you adieu for now. But fret not, for I shall be back with further updates tomorrow! Stay tuned for more of our adventures and misadventures. Until then, keep smiling, stay cheeky, and may your days be filled with laughter. Cheers!
