2022 – Phase Six

On the final leg of the house remodelling. When we bought the bungalow in 2007, we knew we had some work to do but surely not what we’ve done and money we’ve spent. But it’s all been worth it

Next phase was to replace all the old white plastic Upvc windows & door. We had been recommended to look at York Windows in Wigan.

We made the right choice, not only were they very competitive with their costs but they were great to deal with. The team on the day of fitting were on-time, clean and very professional a credit to the company they work for.

Michele made the right choice changing from white Upvc to anthracite Upvc. We even changed the old ‘Irish oak’ patio doors to an aluminium anthracite picture window.

Solar panel installation

The world was going crazy. Russia invaded Ukraine. This caused the food and energy costs to soar at an alarming rate. For our four-bedroom bungalow we paid our energy supplier £120 per month for our gas and electricity but since the increase in costs we were being asked to pay £250/£300 per month for the same.

To help reduce our bills we looked at installing solar panel and a battery in the garage. We worked with several suppliers until we found one, we felt comfortable with and signed the agreement for installation. Again, we were hit with the fallout from the pandemic as supplies were in short supply. But we finally had an installation day set for the installation of our solar array at end of October 2022.
