NYC, Washington DC, Nashville and Greensboro – Day Twelve

Hey there, folks! It’s your cheeky correspondent, reporting in from the good ol’ US of A. We’re on day twelve of our grand adventure, and boy, do we have some tales to share. So grab a cuppa, sit back, and let me regale you with the shenanigans of day four in Nashville.

Now, Nashville, aka the music city, has been quite a trip. Today, we set out to explore Printers Alley, hoping for a respite from the bustling madness of Broadway. Well, surprise surprise, it was indeed less chaotic, but that’s only because everything was shut tighter than a pickle jar! Talk about timing, huh?

But fear not, my dear readers, we didn’t let the closed doors dampen our spirits. We made a quick pit stop at a fancy coffee joint called Elegy Coffee. Gotta keep those caffeine levels in check, you know?

With our spirits (and our caffeine) replenished, we embarked on a leisurely stroll along the river. We even stumbled upon a replica of Fort Nashborough, where we caught a glimpse of an old-school paddle steamer gliding along the Cumberland River. It was like stepping back in time, only with more selfies and Instagram stories.

As fate would have it, our path led us back to the Virgin Hotel, but not before we discovered an English Pub aptly named…wait for it…The Pub. Now, I could’ve gone for some good ol’ English ale, but in the spirit of embracing the American experience, I opted for an American brew. Gotta stay true to my embraced other culture policy, you know?

Hunger gnawed at our bellies, and we found ourselves succumbing to its relentless grip. This time, Michele decided to deviate from her burger obsession, and we shared a delightful pizza. Trust me, folks, it was a top-notch choice. We washed it down with a couple of lip-smacking IPAs because, hey, you can’t go wrong with a good ol’ American brewski.

Now, here comes the grand finale of our Nashville escapade – a trip to the legendary Grand Ole Opry. I must admit, I wasn’t exactly giddy with excitement about a night of country music, but guess what? It turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Those 2.5 hours of twangy tunes and heartfelt lyrics didn’t go to waste. Color me impressed!

Now, for those who aren’t in the know, let me enlighten you about the Grand Ole Opry. Picture this: a hallowed institution of country music, a stage that has seen the likes of Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and countless other legends. It’s a mecca for all country music enthusiasts, a place where boots were made for stompin’ and cowboy hats go hand in hand with heartfelt ballads. It’s the very heart and soul of country music, y’all.

And now, as we wind down for the night, we find ourselves at the hotel, ready to catch some Z’s before hitting the road bright and early. Tomorrow, we’re embarking on a 470-mile drive to North Carolina. Buckle up, folks, because the adventure continues!

Stay tuned for more tales from the road. Until then, keep smiling, keep exploring, and keep the cheekiness alive!
