Waves, Swells, and Serenades: A Day at Sea

A Day in the Life of Cruise Connoisseurs

Ahoy there, fellow adventurers! Gather round as I regale you with tales of a day in the life of us, the seafaring techies, aboard the majestic vessel of the waves Sky Princess. Brace yourselves for a journey filled with mishaps, mirth, and mackerel!

Rise and Shine… or Not?

Imagine this: you’re nestled in your cosy cabin, dreaming of far-off lands, when suddenly, a knock at the door disrupts your slumber. It’s room service, delivering first breakfasts promptly at 06:50. Or so we thought! Turns out, our trusty gadgets failed us, and it was actually 07:50! Lesson learned: never underestimate the power of manual alarm clocks.

From Hobbits to Buffets

With the confusion of time sorted, it was off to indulge in the delights of second breakfasts at the World Fresh Marketplace. The spread was as grand as the rolling hills of the Shire, and I, being the culinary adventurer that I am, opted for the smoked mackerel. A choice worthy of any hobbit’s approval!

Tales of Bravery and Beauty

As the clock struck 10:00, Warren and I embarked on a journey of a different kind – a rendezvous with Lt. Col. Sulle Alhaji, a true hero of the Falklands War. While we listened intently to his gripping tales of valour, Michele and Dawn chose a more pampering path, indulging in facial treatments fit for royalty.

Deckside Delights and Dressed to Impress

With the sun high in the sky and the sea stretching out before us, we whiled away the hours on deck, basking in the glow of the oversized TV screen. And as evening approached, we dusted off our finest attire, for tonight was formal night! Oh, the sight of fellow guests decked out in their elegant garb was a spectacle to behold.

Of Swells and Serenades

As the evening progressed and the waves danced beneath us, dinner was served. Alas, the culinary delights were overshadowed by a bit of a swell, leaving me in need of a brisk stroll on deck to steady my sea legs. But fear not, for the night held promises of musical marvels! From the captivating Rock Opera show to Michele’s impromptu serenades, the entertainment was simply sublime.

Anchored in Anticipation

As the clock struck 22:45 and the curtains closed on another day at sea, we found ourselves captivated by the melodies of the live house band, with an ABBA medley that had us all tapping our toes. And as we retired to our cabins just after midnight, and remembering the captain’s announcement earlier it filled us with anticipation – another sea day awaited us, promising adventure and excitement on the horizon as the weather was predicted to be too bad to berth in Haugesund.
