Not the return I expected

Well that didn’t go as I expected!

My long over due return to Old Trafford did not go as expected as United were out classed by Swansea in the 3rd round of the FA Cup and were beaten 1-2! My first visit to Old Trafford since May 2013 saw me sat just to the left of the centre line in the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand – Lower Tier or as I fondly remember in what used to be the old standing section of United Road, just below G and H Centre.

Swansea scored 1st, then followed by a United equaliser before a scrappy game where United had long spells of possession but lacked the creativity to make any of their chances count. Then the succor blow with minutes remaining on the clock and United down to 10 men Swansea opened United up to get the winner. Ah well its a dark time for the club and I think that some serious rebuilding is required before it will get better. But what the club will need to do is hold their nerve and stick with David Moyes, he will find the winning combination soon.

We are also back at work tomorrow after nearly two weeks away for the Christmas and New Year holidays. We have had a lazy but well enjoyed time away from the office. Now to get my mind back in the work mode with an early night. That won’t be too difficult as we had a late night at our friends Nigel and Jo on Saturday night with a few beers, some delicious wine and a tasty take-out from the Chinese. They have also finished off all of the finishing touches to their new kitchen extension which looks absolutely fantastic and some thing they seem very proud to show off.

I’m now beginning to doze as it was a tad cold at Old Trafford this afternoon and I’m now sat in the warmth in front of the laptop, so I’ll sign off until next week.
