The highlight of this week was the visit of my cousin’s daughter to the UK from Chicago.
This was the first time Elle had been back to the UK in long while, we were trying to think how long ago that was and could only agree it was when the whole family came over from the US and stayed at the Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham. But it has to be at least 6-7 years ago!
Elle was over with her dad and andnbsp;his wife catching up with his side of the family whist visiting Wales for the first part of the week. By the looks of things they had a great week visiting the attractions.
Then on Friday Elle was allowed to visit her grand mother (my aunt). We managed to catch up with her at my cousin Sharon’s house. Sharon had put a little bit of lunch on for us all which was a very nice gesture. The kids all chilled together while us adults sat around and chatted with them, reminiscing about the family.
Elle’s flight back to Chicago was supposed to be 09:30 this morning but after several delays the flight was cancelled for 24 hours and they were all packed off to a hotel for the day, so another day in the UK for her. Meanwhile back at home in Chicago waiting for her daughter to return is my cousin Julie. Don’t worry Julie Elle is having a ball and I’m sure she’ll be full of stories from her UK visit to pass on to you guys in Chicago.
