‘Tis the Season: Two Days until Christmas 2013

A Festive Frenzy Unravels

Well, well, well, would you look at that – it’s a mere two days until Christmas! The anticipation is as palpable as the scent of mince pies wafting through the air. We’re knee-deep in the merry madness of the holiday season, and let me tell you, things are kicking into high gear.

Revelry in Manchester

First up on the festive agenda was the grand Manchester office Christmas bash. Picture this: a swanky ‘black tie’ affair at The Midland Hotel, with around 140 of us merry Manchester Office folk coming together to paint the town red – or rather, deck it with boughs of holly. The spread was nothing short of spectacular; hats off to the kitchen crew for pulling off a culinary masterpiece to feed the masses. And of course, what’s a celebration without some fine wine, beer, and lively banter? Oh, and for those with a spring in their step, there was even dancing involved.

Friday Frolics and Old Boys Reunion

As if one soirée wasn’t enough, Friday demanded a bit of liquid fortification at the Bulls Head. The lads I’m tight with and I braved a couple of pints of Boondoggle to kickstart the day with gusto. But hold onto your Santa hats, because the festivities don’t end there. Tomorrow, it’s time for the annual gathering of the ‘old boys’ at The Rising Sun, a quaint little spot just off Deansgate. I can almost taste the ale and camaraderie already. It’s been far too long since I caught up with the likes of Hamlin, Andrew, Pete, and the gang. We’ll be holding court from noon until Michele swings by to whisk me away – bless her heart.

Office Shenanigans and a Well-Deserved Break

Then, it’s a swift transition from merrymaking to the grindstone as we clock in for the final stretch before Christmas Eve. But fear not, for the promise of a well-deserved break looms large on the horizon. I’ll be bidding adieu to the office chaos until the 6th of January – a hiatus well earned, if I do say so myself.

Tidings of Comfort and Joy…and Chores

Ah, the weekend – a time for relaxation and rejuvenation, or so they say. But for this intrepid soul, there’s no rest for the festive weary. Saturday saw us embark on a shopping expedition, braving the aisles of COSTCO in preparation for the impending feast with the family. And as for today, well, it’s been a whirlwind of activity. From scrubbing the windows to adorning the garden with solar lights, from giving the wooden floors a steamy spa treatment to topping up the trusty steed with diesel – it’s been a one-man mission to ensure everything is spick, span, and sparkling. But fear not, dear reader, for now that the blog has been duly posted, I shall finally surrender to the siren call of relaxation.

A Final Festive Note

As we hurtle towards the crescendo of Christmas, let us not forget the true spirit of the season. Whether you’re revelling in raucous revelry or seeking solace in quiet reflection, may your Christmas be filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Here’s to a holiday season that’s as relaxing as it is enjoyable, as merry as it is memorable.
