Ready for My Last Week of Being 49
The Countdown Begins
Well, here we are. The past year has absolutely flown by, and now I’m staring down the barrel of turning 50 in just over a week. Crikey, where did the time go? I must say, being 49 hasn’t been too shabby, and neither have the past 49 years.
The New Kids at Work
This week at work has been rather interesting. We’ve had a new graduate and a fresh-faced year-out join the team. Both seem quite capable and have settled in rather well. It’s very much a case of sink or swim, and I must say, they’re swimming splendidly. No sinking on my watch, thank you very much!
Missing My Grandson Harry
Haven’t seen hide nor hair of my grandson Harry this week, but I’m looking forward to catching up with him next Saturday. He’s popping over to ours for the first time, and I can’t wait. Granddad duties are the best, aren’t they?
Football Frenzy: United vs. Wigan
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of watching United play Wigan. What a match! Wigan put up a good fight, but United’s class shone through in the second half. The game was chock-full of milestones: Rio Ferdinand played his 400th game, Ryan Giggs hit his 600th league match, Paul Scholes marked his 700th game for United, and it was Fergie’s 500th home game. On top of that, we had debut games for Buttner and Powell, both of whom scored. Talk about making an entrance!
New Adventures Await
There’s more to come, so stay tuned for my next post. It’s bound to be a whirlwind of reflections and musings as I step into the big five-oh.
