A Jolly Good Sunny Day
Another Scorcher
The sun was blazing away today, with the mercury sitting comfortably at a balmy 30 degrees. It’s just a bit of a pity I had to spend the day cooped up in the office. Can’t win them all, I suppose.
Cheeky Lunchtime Escapade
Determined not to let the glorious weather go entirely to waste, I managed to rope in five colleagues for a cheeky lunchtime pint. Our mission: find a pub with plenty of sunshine and a decent spot to sit outside. Our search led us to Canal Street in Manchester’s vibrant gay village. Not that it mattered much – the beer was cold, cheap, and thoroughly enjoyable. Cheers to that!
Homeward Bound
Managed to make it home at a reasonable hour, just in time for a delightful bowl of paella that Michele had whipped up. Absolutely scrumptious, it was. Nothing quite like a home-cooked meal to end the day on a high note.
Garden Chit-Chat
After dinner, I found myself in the garden with our youngest. The poor lad was feeling a bit down, with all his mates off on their annual 12th Wigan Boys Brigade barge trip. Josh was meant to go too, but it slipped his mind until it was too late. We did try to get him a spot last weekend, but alas, they were fully booked. Sorry, son.
Night-Time Shenanigans
We’re hoping for a better night’s sleep tonight. Last night was a bit of a disaster, thanks to the neighbours. They’ve left their 17-year-old at home, who decided it was the perfect opportunity for a party. Michele, the light sleeper that she is, woke me up at 1:45 AM, fuming and ready for action. Off she went to give the lad a piece of her mind, but the noise was so deafening, she couldn’t get through. She managed to have a stern word with him this morning, though. Trust me, you don’t want to cross her when she’s sleep-deprived!
Isle of Man TT Races
A quick shoutout and good luck to my mate John Ingram, also known as The Ram, who’s gearing up for this year’s Isle of Man TT races. Give it your all, John – we’re rooting for you!
