Octopus Flux & Solar Panel update – April 2023

As eco-conscious homeowners, we were looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint while also saving money on our electricity bills. After researching different options, we decided to invest in a 9 x 450-Watt panel Solar Array System with an 8kw inverter and a 5.5kw battery all by Sunsynk back in October 2022. The installation process was straightforward, and our south-facing roof was the perfect location for the panels. The panels generate a significant amount of electricity, which is stored in the battery and used during peak hours or when there’s a power outage.

Benefits

One of the benefits of this system is that it’s connected to the Octopus Flux import/export tariff. This means that we can sell any excess energy back to the grid when the demand is high and buy it back when it’s cheaper. This has resulted in significantly reduced electricity costs, with our bill for the month of April 2023 being just £10.

Another advantage of this solar energy system is that it’s environmentally friendly. By using renewable energy, we’re reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to a healthier planet. We’re also less dependent on non-renewable energy sources, which can be unreliable and expensive.

In terms of maintenance, the solar panels require very little upkeep, and the battery only needs to be checked occasionally. The Sunsynk inverter is also easy to monitor and control, allowing us to keep track of our energy usage and adjust our settings accordingly.

Overall, we’re very pleased with our solar energy system, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a sustainable and cost-effective way to power their home. With this system, we’re able to save money, reduce our carbon footprint, and contribute to a cleaner and healthier planet.

Conclusion

In summary, a 9 x 450-Watt Panels Solar Array System with a Sunsynk inverter and battery is an excellent investment for any homeowner. With the Octopus Flux import/export tariff, it’s possible to reduce electricity costs significantly while also using renewable energy. It’s a low-maintenance system that’s easy to monitor and control, and it’s an eco-friendly way to power your home.
