NYC, Washington DC, Nashville and Greensboro – Day Fifteen

Greetings, dear readers!

Day fifteen of our fabulous US tour has arrived, and we find ourselves on day three in Greensboro, North Carolina, accompanied by none other than our beloved cousin Julie. Oh, the adventures we’ve had!

This morning, I sprang out of bed with the giddiness of a child on Christmas Day. Why, you ask? Well, it was none other than the FA Cup Final day! For those of you across the pond, let me clarify—it’s a grand football event played globally, though you might call it soccer. Ah, the joy of witnessing the first-ever Manchester derby in this prestigious and ancient cup competition!

While I was busy scanning every channel to find the game, poor Julie was tirelessly pushing the Estate Agent (or as you Americans call them, realtors) for a solid plan of action to view more properties. She’s determined, that one!

Alas, my search for the FA Cup Final on television proved futile. I had to resort to watching it on my trusty pixel 7 mobile. Can you believe it? Just 12 seconds into the game, Gundogan, City’s captain, scored an absolute worldy of a volley. It seemed ominous. United rode their luck in the first 30 minutes as City looked to dominate. Then, in the 33rd minute, United equalized with a “modern-day penalty” given for the slightest of handballs. Fernandes, United’s captain, calmly scored from the penalty spot. But City came out in the second half just as strong as they did in the first, and Gundogan struck again in the 51st minute. United fought valiantly as the game progressed, but City held their ground and emerged as the better team. Well played, lads!

While I had my eyes glued to the FA Cup Final, Julie and Michele began packing Julie’s belongings in preparation for her upcoming house sale. I did lend a hand, but only after the football—I have my priorities straight, you know.

The afternoon seemed rather tranquil, as we explored three potential house purchases for Julie. Ah, the joys of a seller’s market! Let’s see what marvelous outcomes await us.

In the evening, we ventured out for dinner with Julie’s friend at a delightful, unassuming restaurant. Sometimes simplicity brings the greatest pleasure.

To wrap up our day, we had quite a wildlife experience! We spotted our first deer, accompanied by its two adorable youngsters. And would you believe it? An eagle landed on the opposite side of the pond behind Julie’s place, as if it were greeting us personally. Oh, and let’s not forget the first thunderstorm and rain of our trip. Nature sure knows how to make an entrance!

Tomorrow, Sunday, we’re off to a barbecue extravaganza. Who knows what scrumptious treats and amusing escapades await us there? Stay tuned, dear readers, for the next chapter of our whimsical family adventure!

Until then, keep smiling and remember to enjoy the journey!
