Greetings, Fellow Adventurers!
Ahoy there, my dear wanderers! Michele and Gary here, your cheeky travel chroniclers, back with another thrilling update from our wild and whacky US escapade. Strap yourselves in, ’cause day thirteen was an absolute corker from start to finish!
Goodbye, Nashville!
Our day kicked off with a fond farewell to the fabulous Virgin Hotel in Nashville. We packed up our bits and bobs, then trotted off to the Budget car rental. Now, here’s where things got rather interesting. Initially, we’d booked a modest little car, something that wouldn’t turn too many heads. But what do they offer us? A 3.5 litre Dodge Charger for just $15 extra a day. Temptation, thy name is Dodge! So, in true adventurous spirit, we thought, “Why the devil not?”
And let me tell you, this beast made quite the entrance. Vroom-vroom! It roared like a lion in the Serengeti. With our new ride purring contentedly, we sorted out the paperwork, hooked up the Android Auto, and set our course for Greensboro, North Carolina.
On the Road Again
Our journey to Greensboro, a mere 466 miles away, promised to be a doozy. With the route set on Interstate 40 East, we estimated a drive of just over 7 hours. Buckle up, folks, this was going to be one heck of a ride!
Roughly 150 miles in, we decided it was time for a pit stop. Our bellies demanded it! Twenty glorious minutes later, after a feast of snacks, we were back on the road, spirits high and ready to conquer the remaining miles.
Arrival in Greensboro
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, we rolled into Greensboro. Our destination? Cousin Julie’s charming abode. She welcomed us with open arms and a warm embrace. And guess what? We’d also jumped a time zone! That’s right, folks, the clocks had leaped forward an hour. Time flies when you’re on an epic road trip!
An Evening in Julie’s Garden
Picture this: as the sun set, we found ourselves in Julie’s back garden, soaking in the serene twilight. We were treated to a magnificent symphony of nature. Frogs were croaking, turtles were paddling about, and cicadas were chirping away. It was like nature’s very own concert, and we had front-row seats.
Four Days of Family Fun
We’re planning to hang out with Julie for the next four days, catching up on all the latest gossip and news. But don’t fret, dear readers, I’ll keep you in the loop with all the juicy details. For now, though, I must admit, I’m absolutely knackered and could use some serious shut-eye. Adventures, as thrilling as they are, can be utterly exhausting!
Until Next Time
So, until we meet again, stay cheeky, stay curious, and keep those travel dreams alive. Catch you on the flip side, my intrepid companions!
Yawningly yours,
Michele and Gary
