NYC, Washington DC, Nashville and Greensboro – Day Ten
Greetings from Nashville!
Hello there, fellow adventurers! It’s your favourite cheeky family blogger, coming at you live from day ten of our grand escapade. We’ve touched down in Nashville, and let me tell you, this city is something else!
A Royal Slumber at Virgin Hotel
First things first, let’s talk about the heavenly slumber we had at the Virgin Hotel. The beds were so blissfully comfy, I was convinced I’d been whisked away to Cloud Nine. Hats off to the hotel staff for pampering us like royalty and making sure our rooms were perfect. I suspect they sprinkled a bit of magic dust to ensure we had the sweetest of dreams.
Coffee and Bagels at Just Love Coffee Cafe
After a dreamy night’s rest, we ventured out on a quest for the ultimate cup of joe and a scrumptious bagel. Our caffeinated sanctuary was Just Love Coffee Cafe on Music Row. Oh boy, did they deliver! Top-notch service and food that made our taste buds dance with joy. It’s a good thing we’re on holiday because our palates are living their best lives!
Sightseeing in Style
Next on the agenda was a sightseeing bus tour to get our bearings. We opted for the hop-on/hop-off tour from Viator, starting from 128 4th Ave S., Nashville. Off we went, like a merry band of explorers on a mission.
We whizzed past the impressive Nissan Stadium, home to the Tennessee Titans. Now, I’m no American Football expert, but I bet this place can whip up a Titan-sized roar! We also admired the historic Fort Nashborough, feeling as if we’d stepped back in time (minus the petticoats and powdered wigs, of course).
Honky Tonk Street: The Heartbeat of Nashville
Hold onto your hats, folks, because the real fun began on Honky Tonk Street. If you’ve never been, it’s a sight to behold. The vibrant energy, the lively music spilling from every door, and the enthusiastic crowd made us want to kick up our heels and join in the fun. Yee-haw!
Exploring Nashville’s Gems
Our adventure continued with a visit to the Musicians Hall of Fame, a wander through the bustling farmers market, and a serendipitous discovery of the Marathon Motor Works. We’ve certainly been getting our steps in on this trip!
Centennial Park and the Towering Pantheon
Our tour brought us to Centennial Park, where we were greeted by a towering Pantheon. It felt like we’d teleported to Rome, sans the pizza and gelato. Speaking of frozen delights, we found the most divine ice cream at the farmers market. I won’t give it all away, but let’s just say it was scoop-tacular!
Lunch at The Twelve Thirty Club
Now, let’s talk about lunch. We gracefully hopped off the tour bus and made our way to The Twelve Thirty Club on Broadway. The menu had us drooling, and I couldn’t resist the chicken fried chicken with mash, green beans, and sausage gravy. Michele, however, stuck to her beloved burger. When you find something you love, why mess with perfection, right?
Live Music and Two-Stepping
As we devoured our delicious meals, we were serenaded by live country music in the bar. It was the perfect soundtrack to our Nashville adventure. We even dared to do a little two-stepping, but let’s just say our dance moves won’t be winning any awards soon. Best to stick to being enthusiastic spectators!
Evening Reflections and Sweet Treats
With our bellies full and hearts content, we resumed our exploration of the city. A second visit to the farmers market for more culinary delights was in order. Our taste buds continued to have a blast, and we were more than happy to join the party!
Now, back in our cosy room at the Virgin Hotel, we’re unwinding with a bag of Skittles, reflecting on the day’s adventures, and plotting our next escapade. Life is good, my friends.
Until Next Time
So, until next time, keep those smiles wide, your sense of adventure alive, and remember: when life gives you lemons, ask for some sugar and make a lemonade cocktail. Cheers!
P.S. Ice Cream Heaven
P.S. If you ever find yourself in Nashville, don’t forget to try the ice cream at the Nashville Farmers Market. Trust me, it’s udderly fantastic!
