Ah, the joys of being up with the larks! This morning was no exception as I rose with the sun, knowing full well that I needed the afternoon free for some quality family time.

Enter Drew and Fran, gracing our humble abode for the afternoon. And what better way to spend the day than indulging in a truly delightful Sunday roast? Now, let me tell you, most of the culinary magic was conjured by none other than Lewis, with young Joshua lending a hand in the kitchen chaos.
A Feast Fit for Royalty
Picture this: succulent roast chicken, crispy roast spuds, and caramelised parsnips, all nestled alongside creamy mash, tender carrots, vibrant broccoli, and snowy cauliflower. And to tie it all together, a generous drizzle of mum’s homemade gravy. Mmm, my taste buds are still tingling at the memory.
Quiet Moments and Excited Cheers
As the boys engrossed themselves in the virtual realms of Xbox games, there was surprisingly little clamour and testosterone-fuelled banter. Meanwhile, Michele, Fran, and I luxuriated in the serene tranquillity of the Livingroom, revelling in our peaceful respite.
Victory and Defeat
Ah, the thrill of sports! Our evening entertainment came courtesy of the European Championship final, where Spain emerged triumphant, sweeping Italy aside with a resounding 4-0 victory. While I had dared to predict an upset with Italy taking the crown, fate had other plans. And to add a dash of irony, Italy happened to be my pick in the office sweepstake. C’est la vie!
The Quiet Night Beckons
Alas, all good things must come to an end. As the evening waned and the remnants of the day settled, I reluctantly bid adieu to the warmth of companionship and the comfort of a full belly. Duty called, and I had some unfinished tasks to attend to before surrendering to the embrace of slumber.
