A River Cruise with a Sprinkle of Festive Magic
Well, it’s official – the mulled wine has gone to our heads and the Christmas spirit has taken hold! We’ve just booked ourselves a cracking little festive adventure: Christmas time on the Danube with Emerald Cruises, and we’re setting sail with none other than our travel partners-in-festivity, Warren & Dawn.
Prepare for twinkling lights, wintery nights, and oodles of glühwein as we float merrily from Budapest to Vienna on one of Europe’s most enchanting rivers.
From Scouse Skies to Snowy Streets
We’ll be taking off from Liverpool John Lennon Airport with good old Ryanair at the tail-end of November 2025 – passports in hand, Santa hats at the ready. It’s a five-day, four-night winter wonderland cruise along the majestic Danube River, starting in Budapest, Hungary, and winding our way through the frosty charm of Central Europe, ending in glorious Vienna, Austria.
And once we’ve had our fill of schnitzel, stollen, and possibly one too many strudels, we’ll hop aboard EasyJet and wing our way back to Liverpool – no doubt with tinsel peeking out of our suitcases.
Emerald Cruises: Sleighing It on the Danube
Our cruise will be hosted by Emerald Cruises, who know a thing or two about making river travel ridiculously luxurious – even when the thermometer’s dropped below zero. Expect panoramic views, seasonal cheer, Christmas markets galore, and enough fairy lights to rival Blackpool Illuminations.
Whether we’re sipping hot chocolate on the sun deck or toasting with fizz below deck, this cruise promises to be equal parts festive and fabulous.
