The Day After “The Manchester Derby”
A Surprisingly Gentle Day at the Office
Yesterday’s defeat in the Manchester derby had us Reds walking into the office with trepidation, anticipating a barrage of banter from the Blues. To our surprise, they were quite gentle with us, showing a level of grace we hardly expected. It wasn’t the nightmare scenario we had envisioned, which was a pleasant turn of events.
The Midfield Conundrum
Upon reflection, the game seemed to turn when our midfield trio of Scholes, Giggs, and Park ran out of steam. It was a classic case of running out of petrol just when we needed a bit more horsepower. Once that happened, Manchester City seized control. Fergie, bless him, was a tad slow to make the necessary changes up front. Poor Rooney was left to fend for himself, much like a lone soldier in no man’s land.
Defensive Masterclass from Mancini
Once Mancini decided to park the bus, it was curtains for us. United struggled to make any significant impact, ending the match without a single shot on target. That’s right, not one! It was as if we were playing with blindfolds on. Credit where it’s due though, City’s defence was rock solid.
The Personal Front: Dentist Drama
On a personal note, I had to dash off from work early to take Lewis for his consultation with the hospital dentist. The verdict is in: he needs a tooth extraction. We’ve scheduled the procedure for after his exams to avoid disrupting his revision schedule – not that I’m convinced he has one!
Google AdWords: The Mystery Suspension
In other news, my Google AdWords account has been mysteriously suspended. I’ve lodged an appeal to uncover the reason behind this baffling decision. It’s like they’re speaking another language sometimes.
FTP Fiasco Resolved
On a brighter note, I’ve managed to sort out my FTP account issues with Zen. Everything is back to normal on that front, which is a small victory in the grand scheme of things.
