Michele’s birthday today so what ever the birthday girl wanted she could have except for the Michael Kors handbag, as that would need a little bit more saving for!
Off to the pool it was to set the towels out but with an added twist, we now need 6 sunbeds close together not 3 as the Bray’s are with us. So I called at the Tent section to grab another 3 towels. No need really Warren and Adam joined me to see the techniques I’d acquired of the past week.
Mission accomplished, now for the croissant’s for the birthday girl. Oh no 60 people in front of me. Shall I go back and disappoint her, no I’ll queue dutifully and wait. 20 minutes just to get 4 croissants! I’m a good lad.
We spent the morning by the pool, then part of the afternoon on the beach in the surf. Well Warren, Adam and I did the surf anyway. This time the surf was more boisterous than last week. The life guard was not allowing people to be any deeper than their waists as it was deemed too rough. We were all wiped out at some point or other. Great fun though. Then it was back to the pool after lunch at the Bray’s.
I did as I was told and kept out of the sun by keeping my tee shirt on. Good choice really as it was hotter than previous days.
Late afternoon Warren and I did a reccy to the train station fit parking then also into San Vincenzo fit Michele’s birthday meal.
We caught the shuttle bus into San Vincenzo, we ate a wonderful restaurant on the edge of the marina. Josh amazed everybody by not ordering a margherita pizza! He actually ordered a seafood platter that came with large prawns, sardines and calamaris. All was devoured without hesitation.
Getting the shuttle bus back was fun, we were the second family at the bus stop but when the buses (2 of them appeared) we were last to get on as the local elderly population stampeded the queue and pushed in. Rude was not the word I used to describe them!
Bed early tonight as we are on the 07:45 train to Rome in the morning – night.
