Lazy Day

Chilled to Perfection: A Lazy Week at Home

Covid Holidays (2021) – Days Nine to Thirteen: Lazy Days Chilling at Home

Day Nine: Embracing the Couch Life

Well, here we are, day nine of our Covid holidays, and guess what? Absolutely nothing planned. How delightful! The agenda for today? Embracing the couch, a comfy blanket, and maybe a box set binge. We’re going for peak laziness today, and it feels gloriously indulgent. The weather outside might be frightful, but inside, it’s pure bliss.

Day Ten: Green Fingers at the Garden Centre

Alright, we mustered the energy for a short jaunt to the local garden centre. Why, you ask? Bedding plants and pots for the back garden are calling our names. A quick trip, mind you. Nothing too strenuous. The garden centre was a delightful escape, filled with vibrant flowers and an array of plant pots that made us feel like amateur botanists. A splash of colour and some greenery should spruce up the garden nicely, giving us a lovely spot to lounge in once the weather decides to play nice.

Discovering New Plants

As we wandered the aisles, we discovered a few new plant species we’d never heard of before. With a mix of curiosity and excitement, we filled our trolley with an eclectic mix of blooms. There’s something incredibly satisfying about planning a garden, even if it’s just the back garden. It’s a little patch of tranquillity right at home.

The Joy of Pots

Let’s not forget the pots! From terracotta classics to modern ceramics, choosing the right pot felt almost like selecting a new piece of furniture. Each one has its charm and can change the look of a space dramatically. We’re going for a mix-and-match style, giving the garden an eclectic, vibrant vibe.

Day Eleven: Garden Glory

Today’s mission? Planting our new garden treasures. Armed with gardening gloves and a spade, we set to work. There’s something wonderfully grounding about getting your hands dirty, isn’t there? The fresh air, the smell of soil, and the satisfaction of seeing your garden transform bit by bit.

Perfectly Placed Pots

We arranged our new pots around the patio, playing a game of aesthetic Tetris. A dash of lavender here, some bright marigolds there – it’s all about balance, darling. By the end of the day, the garden looked like a little slice of paradise. A place where we can sip our morning coffee or enjoy a sunset drink. Ah, the simple pleasures.

Day Twelve: Lounging in the Sun

With the garden looking fabulous, it’s time to test it out. Today’s activity? Lounging in the sun. We dragged out the sun loungers, applied a liberal amount of sunscreen, and kicked back with a good book. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and for a few hours, it felt like we were on a mini holiday in our own backyard.

Reading and Relaxation

Books in hand, we let the hours slip by without a care in the world. There’s a special kind of relaxation that comes with outdoor reading – the combination of fresh air and a gripping novel is unbeatable. If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out. It’s the epitome of leisure.

Day Thirteen: Culinary Creativity

Feeling refreshed and inspired by our days of relaxation, we decided to get a bit creative in the kitchen. Today, we’re channeling our inner chefs. With a plethora of fresh ingredients and a sprinkling of enthusiasm, we whipped up some culinary delights that would make even Gordon Ramsay nod in approval.

A Feast to Remember

From a hearty breakfast to a decadent dinner, we let our taste buds lead the way. Experimenting with new recipes and flavours, the kitchen was a hive of activity. By the end of the day, we’d not only satisfied our appetites but also rekindled our love for home-cooked meals. The perfect end to a week of laid-back, home-bound adventures.
