Christmas Chaos and Office Antics: A Festive Tale

A Cheeky Christmas Countdown

Ah, Christmas! That jolly season is almost upon us, and if you’re anything like me, you’re probably scrambling to get everything sorted. Not quite ready? Join the club! Let’s dive into the festive chaos and embrace the holiday madness, shall we?

Last-Minute Gift Dash

It’s the same old story every year, isn’t it? Christmas sneaks up on us, and suddenly, we’re left with a daunting list of gifts to buy. The shopping bags are yet to be filled, and once we have those shiny presents in hand, there’s the whole rigmarole of wrapping and tagging. Ah, the joys of festive preparation! But, fear not, there’s still time to transform into Santa’s efficient little helper and get everything under the tree before the big day.

Office Shenanigans and Festive Fiascos

Now, onto the office party escapades! The Arcadis Manchester office had our big bash at the Macdonald Townhouse Hotel on Portland Street, Manchester. What a night! Full of laughter, questionable dance moves, and perhaps a drink or two too many. I must say, I had a blast and I hope everyone else did too.

Stayed the night in Manchester, like a few others from the office. Ended up sharing a room with a colleague who could rival a freight train with his snoring. I got back to our room around 1:40 AM, only to find him in full symphonic snore mode. The fun didn’t stop there; he woke up at the crack of dawn, 6:00 AM, to have a not-so-pleasant chat with the porcelain throne. Lovely. Meanwhile, I was up, showered, and back in the office by 7:40 AM, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, unlike the rest of the youngsters who stumbled in post-9:30. LIGHTWEIGHTS, the lot of them!

Teenagers and Their Parties

Josh my youngest has been keeping busy as well, attending not one but two parties over the weekend. No, not Christmas parties—13th birthday celebrations for some girls from school. Oh, to be young and social! It seems the festive spirit isn’t just for the adults; the teens are all about celebrating too, even if it’s not in the name of Christmas.

Michele’s Christmas Countdown

Michele’s gearing up for her own office Christmas party this week. She’s wrapping up work on Thursday, leaving me to hold the fort until Christmas Eve. Someone’s got to keep the wheels turning, right? Though I must admit, the thought of winding down and enjoying the holiday spirit sounds pretty appealing.

Missing My Grandson Harry

It’s been a couple of weeks since I last saw my grandson, Harry. Everyone’s been busy, running around with festive preparations. But I’m really looking forward to a cuddle with him on Christmas Day. There’s nothing like family time during the holidays, and I can’t wait to see the little one’s face light up.

BBC Sports Personality Predictions

As the day winds down, Michele and I are settling in to watch the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Our predictions? Well, we reckon Bradley Wiggins will snag the Sports Personality of the Year 2012 title. And for the Sports Team of the Year? It’s got to be Team GB, especially after their stellar performance at the Olympics. Let’s see if we’re right!
