Festive Fun: Wrapping Up 2014 in Style

A Cheeky Christmas Catch-Up

The Calm After Chicago

Well, look who’s back! After regaling you all with daily posts for 18 glorious days in Chicago, I thought you’d appreciate a breather. August ended in radio silence, giving you a much-needed respite from my ramblings. Then came September with just a single chirpy post about my eldest son’s grand opening of Urban Burger Bar in Altrincham. And now, here I am, ready to sprinkle some festive cheer with a fresh update.

Prepping for Christmas 2014

Here we are, the Sunday before Christmas 2014. All the gifts have been bought, wrapped, and dispatched to Father Christmas, poised and ready for the big day just three days away. Have we been good enough to warrant a visit from the jolly man himself? Fingers crossed!

Work Parties and Holiday Shenanigans

Michele and I have both ticked off our work Christmas parties, and I must say, they went down an absolute treat. The office the next day was a bit of a ghost town, with many colleagues already off on their Christmas break. Alas, I wasn’t so fortunate, having burned through most of my holiday allowance during our Chicago adventure. But fret not, I only have a day and a half left at the office. I’m clocking out at lunchtime on the 23rd and won’t be back until the 5th of January. Hurrah!

Curry with the Old Boys

Why am I knocking off early on Tuesday, you ask? It’s for the long-overdue gathering of the old boys at The Rising Sun, just off Deansgate in Manchester. Picture this: curry, chips, rice, and a couple of beers to wash it all down. It’s been ages since our last meetup, and I’m sure we’ve got a treasure trove of stories to share. The gossip will be flowing as freely as the pints!

A Cosy Christmas and Boxing Day Bash

This year, Christmas Day will be a more intimate affair with just five of us for lunch. But fear not, we’ll still have a blast. Boxing Day is when the rest of the gang joins in the fun. It’s also Mum’s birthday, so we’re lucky to extend the festivities. Two days of gift exchanges, merriment, and feasting with our nearest and dearest – what more could one ask for?

Until Next Time

So, until next time, have fun, stay safe, and enjoy every moment of the holiday season. Cheers!
