It’s been a busy old week at the Cleary household this week both professionally and personally.
Work has been hectic again with more phone calls setting the scene for the new global licence agreement. Emails have been flyingandnbsp;around from the UK to Asia back to the UK thenandnbsp;to Mainlandandnbsp;Europe then back to the UK then over to the US and finally back to the UK. It’s a shame you don’tandnbsp;get air milesandnbsp;for emails! There will be plenty more times where the global contacts will be discussing and planning the roll-out of the software next.
Lewis receivedandnbsp;an email off the RAF advisingandnbsp;that he had been accepted to undertake an assessment test with them which is one of the many steps he’ll have to complete before finally being accepted as a Chef.
We also had a parentandnbsp;review meeting with his lecturerandnbsp;at the Catering College and we wereandnbsp;so proud of how well he has done in his 1st year. He is well on the way to getting a merit with the possibility a distinction may wellandnbsp;be reachable if he pushes himself a little harder and may be slows down a little too. Well done Lewis we are so proud of you.
However theseandnbsp;greatandnbsp;things happening to him now mean he has some time to reflectandnbsp;on where he wants his career to go which in turn means he’s got some big decisions to make. What ever your decision son we are behind you all the way.
The weekend started off with us having to prepare Lewis’s bike before rigging the bike rack out so we could take it over to Timperleyandnbsp;as Lewis is staying with Drew and Fran for the later part of the week as he has 3 days work experience at Hale Counrty Club (http://halecountryclub.co.uk/) where Drew works. But before that we had a quick dart down the M61andnbsp; and M62 to our friends David and Beverley to collect some concert tickets.
While with Davidandnbsp; Beverley we had a look at their new extension which I designed for them, all looking really smart especially now that they have the sofa’s and furniture in.
Following this we called at the Trafford Centre to get some gifts for Lewis’s birthday before heading over to drop the bike off. Drew was working so the bike has been left with my parents. Had a couple of hours chat with them before dashing back up the M60andnbsp; and M61 home.
Later on saturday night we had been invitedandnbsp;to our friends Warren and Dawn’s for an evening meal. I was the designated driver for a veryandnbsp;rare change which allowed Michele to have an enjoyable drink. It’s not often she gets the chance and it was quiet funny watching as she was a little bitandnbsp;tipsy. The food we had with Warren and Dawn was a delightful Mexican nom nomandnbsp;nom. Next time I’ll be drinking Warren. Maybe we could arrange a sleep over like the old days and send the girls off to bed and we can sit and talk broken biscuits over a bottle of malt whiskey?
Sunday was a lazyishandnbsp;morning, peeled a whole bunch of spudsandnbsp;for tea before heading off to collect Lewis from work and going to Old Trafford to watch United beat Everton 2-0. Everton were the stronger side in the 1st 20 minutes but United ran out winners. The game was a classic English Premiership game with some strong challenges and end to end football. Ryan Giggsandnbsp;scored which now means he has scored in everyone of the Premier Leagues seasons, no mean feat.
After tea we had an evening sat in watching TV as a family which was nice as it’s not too often the kids want to do that.
No work tomorrow as we are off for Lewis’s birthday and he has his 1st driving lesson too.
Have fun and watch out for next weeks post.
