Roast Beef and Bumped Heads: A Sunday Adventure

The Sunday Shenanigans: A Delightful Family Day

The Day of the Grand Plan

Ah, Sundays with the family, there’s nothing quite like it! This past Sunday, we had a splendid day mapped out to perfection. The plan was to start with a quick shopping spree in Altrincham, then pop by to see my brother and his clan. Following that, a visit to Sam, Matt, and little Harry was on the agenda before finally rounding off the day with a classic Sunday roast at Mum and Dad’s. Bliss, right? Well, it didn’t all go quite to plan…

The Great Bed Battle

Enter Lewis, our very own Houdini, or at least he tries to be when it comes to escaping the comfort of his bed. Poor lad had been out on the razzle in Wigan for two nights straight, so he was understandably struggling to extricate himself from his duvet prison. This unfortunate turn of events meant that our visit to my brother Rob, his lovely wife Sarah, and their kiddos William and Max, had to be called off. Apologies, folks, we’ll make it up to you soon!

Cheeky Harry and the TV Tumble

Now, young Harry, ever the spirited little chap, was having a whale of a time playing with his uncles. Uncle ‘Big Little Chef’ (yes, that’s Lewis again) and Uncle ‘Squash’ (our very own Josh) were the stars of the show. But as it often goes with the little ones, a bit of roughhousing led to a minor mishap. Harry took a tumble near the telly and bumped his head just above his left eye. Cue the drama!

A Trip to the Chemist and A&E

So off Sam trotted to the local chemist first, and when that didn’t quite cut it, she made her way to the Altrincham A&E. They fixed him up with a steri-strip, and after a few tears and a cuddle, our brave little trooper was back to his cheerful self. And no worries about the scar, it’s hardly going to be noticeable once he’s a bit older.

The Grand Finale: Sunday Roast

Finally, the pièce de résistance – Sunday roast at Mum and Dad’s. It was an absolute feast! Roast beef, perfectly puffed Yorkshire puddings, and all the trimmings you could dream of. We washed it down with a lovely bottle of red and topped it all off with Dad’s finest malt whisky. It was ‘nom nom’ all around.

A Toast to Family

Here’s to Mum and Dad for always making Sundays so special. It may not have all gone to plan, but in the end, it’s the little moments that make it all worthwhile. Cheers!
