Brodie Revel Lewis Cleary Queens badge presentation by Wigan Mayor April 2013

Brace Yourselves: The Cleary Weekly Saga Continues!

Do These Weeks Get Any Easier?

Another Mad Week at the Cleary Ranch

This week has been a whirlwind of events at the Cleary ranch, and if you’re thinking things might mellow out, think again! Strap in, folks, it’s been a rollercoaster.

Queen’s Badge Ceremony and Hospital Drama

Monday kicked off with a bang – or more accurately, with a ceremony. Lewis, our star, was bestowed with his Boys Brigade Queen’s Badge by none other than the Mayor of Wigan. It was all rather grand, though mercifully brief, lasting only an hour. But hold on to your hats, folks, because that was just round one! Round two promises to be a bigger extravaganza, slated for May in Liverpool. Kudos to the lads from the 12th Wigan Boys Brigade who clinched their badges, though only a couple made it to the ceremony. Liverpool, get ready – here come the rest!

In the midst of all this regality, there was a hospital stint for grandson Harry, battling dehydration post a bout of gastroenteritis. Thankfully, it was a short stay, and soon enough, he was back home, ruling his cot like a true monarch.

Drawing Drudgery and Five-Star Buzz

Tuesday dawned with the promise of productivity – and a mountain of drawings to tackle. They may have been quick sketches, but oh, the tedium! Meanwhile, Lewis embarked on his maiden voyage at The Radisson, regaling us with tales of five-star escapades upon his return.

Parent-Teacher Paradigm Shift

Wednesday brought forth Joshua’s parents’ evening at The Deanery High School. Brace yourselves for some good news – the school report was positively glowing this time around. Looks like young Joshua’s got a knack for tech and art. The future’s looking bright – or at least, well-drawn.

Thursday: The Day That Wasn’t

Thursday, alas, was a snooze-fest on the events front. Sometimes, even the most exciting weeks need a breather.

BIM Drawing Dilemmas and Workplace Woes

Friday saw me grappling with my first BIM drawing on Autodesk REVIT. It was a slow start, but perseverance paid off in the end. Meanwhile, Lewis faced a less than ideal situation at his former workplace – denied pay and barred from entry. Looks like bridges were burned faster than a brisket on the grill.

Weekend Shenanigans and Sky Surprises

Saturday ushered in some social soirees, with visits to friends and family for hearty lunches and brews. The evening was reserved for a cozy TV catch-up, complete with Lewis’s dramatic rescue from the clutches of public transport.

Sunday dawned with the promise of technological marvels, courtesy of the Sky man and his shiny new HD box. Meanwhile, a triumphant trip to Lewis’s old haunt resulted in a successful payday. As for me, I’m wrapping up this tale of trials and triumphs to savour the tantalising aroma of a pulled beef feast.

Bon Appétit!

And now, if you’ll excuse me, it’s time to indulge in the culinary delights inspired by none other than the telly. For those curious souls, the recipe beckons. Join me in raising a fork to another week survived at the Cleary ranch!
