Dunns River Falls and Dancing Divas: Tales from Jamaica

Lazy Day five in Jamaica: A Cheeky Adventure

A Slow Start

Ah, Jamaica, where even the laziest days are laced with adventure! Day 5 dawned upon us, and rather predictably, it began in a manner most unhurried. Up at a time that could hardly be called early – a leisurely 08:30, we sauntered into breakfast, still basking in the glow of a marvellous night at the grill. The food? Absolutely splendid, though a slight oversight in portion size necessitated the addition of, well, another half portion or so.

Poolside Procrastination

With breakfast behind us, Bev and Michele decided to grace the poolside with their presence for a blissful hour of sun-soaked serenity. Meanwhile, Julie opted for an hour of solitude in her room, perhaps to contemplate the deeper mysteries of life or just to revel in the joy of uninterrupted peace and quiet.

Conquering Dunns River Falls

Our collective laziness was briefly interrupted by a burst of energy as we embarked on the adventure of the day: Dunns River Falls. But fear not, we didn’t abandon our commitment to relaxation entirely. David and I kicked off the proceedings with a spot of scuba diving off the catamaran, a fitting prelude to the upcoming trek.

Hand in hand, we ascended the 900-foot natural wonder, each step a testament to our determination to defy gravity and perhaps a few slips and stumbles along the way. Michele, in her own world of carefree joy, remained blissfully unaware of the occasional mishap. David’s fall onto Bev, and Julie’s decision to take the more photographic route, added a touch of slapstick comedy to our otherwise graceful ascent.

The Boat Party

As the sun began its descent towards the horizon, we found ourselves back on the boat, ready to transition from nature’s playground to a different kind of revelry. Michele, true to form, unleashed her inner dance-floor diva, much to the delight of our cameras, which dutifully captured every booty-shaking moment for posterity.

Fine Dining and Football

With the day’s adventures behind us, we retired to indulge in a spot of fine French dining, because even the laziest of days deserve a touch of culinary indulgence. And as we planned the delights of the following day, with football on the agenda, we couldn’t help but marvel at the sheer joy that comes from embracing the art of relaxation, Jamaican style.
