Today was my first day back at work after the extended Easter break & it was a long day on my feet 🙁
I’ve been to Rotherham today to measure the ground floor of an office building built in 2000. Easy enough apart from the curved link section that was the main reception. I’ll be spending the day tomorrow converting my site notes into an existing floor plan then using this to undertake a space utilisation exercise for the client.
The drive took 1.75 hours each way, the SATNAV took me off the M62 at Huddersfield J24 then over the top to the M1, however coming back it took me all the way up the M1 to join the M62 bizarre but that is the beauty of Tom-Tom IQ routes 🙂
Great Easter Sunday today, albeit that the weather was a little wet & cool.
I’ve been to watch Manchester United FC play Queens Park Rangers today. This was not a particularly good game, the referee gave a penalty & a red card early on for a supposed foul on Ashley Young. This reduced QPR to 10 men. From the spot kick Wayne Rooney scored to make it 1-0. But QPR being reduced to 10 men killed the game off & made it a little bit boring. Paul Scholes (Ginger Xavi) scored in the 2nd half with a well placed drive. Game over.
Man City then had a difficult away game at Arsenal which they had to win to stay in touch with us for the title run in, they got beat 1-0. This means United are 8 points clear with 6 games to go. Looks more & more likely that title number 20 is heading home to Old Trafford. Not bad for a team that is being rebuilt is it?
Paul Scholes returning from retirement a sign of desperation or just a Fergie master stroke? All said & done Scholes was the best player on the pitch today.
All four kids (Sam, Drew, Lewis & Joshua) were home for Sunday roasts with Matt & Fran too. Roast Lamb & all the trimmings. No left overs all plates cleaned. Easter Eggs all handed out but i never got one 🙁
Now sat chilling with Michele & the 2 youngest.
What will tomorrow hold?
Well we’ve all had a lazy Easter Saturday today.
The boys have been out & about, meanwhile Michele & I have only pottered around the house.
We have however made in-roads into reducing the backlog of TV on the Sky planner albeit under the influence of a decent bottle of red for me & a couple of Bailey’s & ice for Michele!
Tomorrow however will be a different sort of day.
I’m off to watch Manchester United FC play Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford (K.O 13.30) then all four kids & their respected ‘better halves’ are up for Easter Sunday tea. Full Sunday roast of Lamb with all the trimmings. Maybe a couple of beers too?
