What a nice way to end the week

Well that was really a nice way to end the week. We went to the Manchester Ball at the Hilton, Manchester with our friends David and Beverley and had an absolute fantastic time on Friday night.

The money at this tears Ball was being raised for the Factory which is a public community programme in North Manchester.

Even up to Friday morning Michele had not made her mind up on what to wear at the Ball while my dress code was easy as it was ‘Black Tie’. So Michele took a couple of different outfits with her!

MRsandnbsp;Candnbsp;had accepted David and Beverley’s offer of using their room to change in while I showered and changed in the office before I moved the car over to Liverpool Road by MOSI. I was hoping to get to The Deansgate pub to meet David for a pre-ball pint however due to the traffic being busy I never made it. The reason for the traffic being busy was that Manchester had it’s Christmas light switch-on so there were more people coming into the city than actually leaving for the evening. So instead of meeting up with David I grabbed a quick pint in The White Lion on Liverpool Road. I had a very nice but pricy pint on Timothy Taylor’s Landlord (£4 for the privilege).

As soon as I’d finished my pint Michele was ready and I met her in the Hilton Lobby shortly followed by David and Beverley. We were then escorted up to ‘Cloud 23’ the bar on the 23rd floor of the Hilton for a champagne reception and a great view over the city of Manchester.

After a couple of glasses of champagne we were then on our way back down to the ballroom where the Manchester Ball was being held. We had great seats with our 2 tables being right at the front. The food, wine and entertainment was 1st class with the highlight being a 10 year old girl from the ‘factory’ signing 3 classics absolutely perfectly – she even got a standing ovation.

Then came the charity bit with the raffle, auction and quizzes and like I said all monies where going to a great cause.

Following the fund raising it was time for the dancing all to a live act.

Not long after midnight we were beginning to tire a little and Michele decided it was time to say our good-night and leave.

As always our hosts David and Beverley put on a great evening and I’m sure their night lasted longer than we did. Many thanks x

Saturday was a terrible day with the weather and we had to catch up with the shopping and other chores before hunkering down to watch TV with home-made fish pie.

Sunday – we spent the wholeandnbsp;of the day tidyingandnbsp;Lewis’s bedroom from top to bottom before I got chance to watch United play Arsenal, United won 1-0 and leap frog City who lost at Sunderland. Lewis has not got away with doing nothing as he’s off work tomorrow (Monday) and there is some sorting out for him to do too.

have a good week folks
