Chicago – Day Eleven

Up and out by 10:00 today to fill the car up. Even more positives for looking at moving over as it only cost us £0.62/litre for unleaded!

Just Mrs C, Josh, Elle and myself today for a 314 mile round trip to a small town called Galena (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galena,_Illinois)

It took us 2.75hrs to get there and we hadn’t even left Illinois! Back home is have driven through 3-4 counties ????

Galena is a quaint little town that appears to be kept in a late 1800’s/early 1900’s style it’s full of antique shops, coffee shops, restaurants and several churches.

After a walk through town and lunch we went up to where the river was, looks like the river tends to flood at the best of times as it was protected by a huge bund/Levi which Elle and Josh ruled down.
