sun is out & Michele is chilling in Lisle

Sunshine Chronicles: A Day in Lisle’s Wild Wonderland

Rise and Shine in Lisle!

Today is day three of our Chicago 2018 tour at Cousin Julie’s in Lisle.

Good morning, you delightful sunbeam enthusiasts! Today’s report comes to you from the heart of Lisle, where the sun is strutting its stuff, and it’s a lazy Sunday morning. But, oh boy, it’s anything but lazy in Julie’s world!

Breakfast Bliss and Wildlife Wonders

The day kicked off with a breakfast fit for kings – coffee and toast on the rear porch, basking in the glory of Mother Nature’s morning show. Move over Netflix, we’ve got squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and even a red-tailed hawk, all performing in Julie’s garden. It’s like a Disney movie with feathers and fur!

Soccer Spectacle and Michele’s Kicking Catastrophe

Feeling all warm and fuzzy, Michele and I strolled over to witness the local kiddos’ football extravaganza. Picture this: parents behaving themselves, sitting on folding chairs under sun canopies – no crazy soccer moms here! However, things took a turn when Michele, in her soccer glory, kicked the ball back onto the field, narrowly missing a tiny footballer. Cue the awkward glances from the dads. After the game, we took a casual wander through the park, because why not?

Retail Therapy, Massages, and BBQ Shenanigans

Post-lunch adventures led Julie and Michele to retail therapy, while I, the brave soul, went for a massage to tackle the rebellious knots in my shoulder. Big shoutout to Julie for graciously surrendering her massage slot. Back at Julie’s, we swapped knots for beers and fired up the BBQ. We even played heroes by helping Julie dismantle her compost bin – because that’s how we roll.

Hawk Watch and Evening Chills

As the clock struck 18:00, the temperature was still in the 80s, and the sun was showing off like it had a point to prove. Surprise guest of the day? A red-tailed hawk decided to grace us with its majestic presence. Regrettably, my camera skills were not up to par, so Google Images became my trusty sidekick.

And now, as the day winds down, we’re lounging and chatting, surrounded by the enchanting trio of Julie, Elle, and Michele.
