Another of my favourite sports

Wow what a week at the London Olympics

The 1st full week of the London Olympics has been absolutley brilliant. Team GB have grabbed so many GOLD< SILVER & BRONZE medals its been fantastic.

We’ve had medals in cycling, gymnastics, shooting, athletics, sailing, judo, swimming & so many other sports.

We’ve smashed world & olympic records & as I sit typing this we sit 3rd in the medal table behind USA (2nd) & China (1st), not bad for a small country.

Usain Bolt has just come 1st in the mens 100m final – wow he’s quick.

The boys got back from Boys Brigade camp & within minutes the house had been turned upside down & Michele was back to full vocal strength with the amount of washing!

We have again spent the day looking for a holiday with the boys but can’t find one that suits us, maybe 2 weeks in costa del Wigan is on the cards, anyone with any suggestions I’m all ears.

Another strange week

This week has been very strange with the weather, we’ve had rain & wind at the beginning of the week but it was still warm then towards the end of the week we’ve had blue skies & sunshine.

Lewis has had his 2nd week in work & is still enjoying his time especially as he was paid on Friday. Typical though he was at a party on Friday night & he asked me to buy him a couple of beers, but as he’s earning he was told to buy his own…… so guess what he bought the cheapest!

Sam had her baby shower on Friday night & by the sounds of it they all had a great time. Not sure about these american style events as we’re British 😉

Drew came over on saturday & spent the afternoon with Mrs C & I, we even popped over to where Lewis works for Drew to have a nosey, then we treated Drew to an ice cream at Frederick’s, Chorley (http://www.fredericksicecream.co.uk/).

Josh has spent the weekend out with his mates & he’s back on his x-box too, now the sun is out!

Watched an historic end to Le Tour de France (http://www.letour.fr/indexTDF_us.html) with Bradley Wiggins winning the General Classification ahead of his team mate Chris Froome both British & riding for Team Sky. The last stage was one by another Team Sky rider Mark Cavendish who broke another record by winning 4 straight finishes on the Champs-Élysées in 4 years.

Now for the Olympics in London which start on Friday.

wow what a nice weekend we’ve had

yes that is a BIG WOW what a nice weekend we have had.

It was a late night on Friday night as i was picking Lewis up from his school leavers ball at The Kilhey Court at 01:00. he came out absolutely buzzing from it. I must say though that all the lads & girls looked very grown up in their suits & gowns.

Saturday was a lazy morning before we went over to Altrincham for the annual festival. We weren’t in time for the parade but managed a walk around the festival field. Well it was well attended due to the sun being out but it certainly was not as good as I remember when I was a child growing up.

We parked up at Mum & Dads before we headed  off to the festival field, then returned later for a chat hoping we had missed the Wimbledon Ladies Final – which we hadn’t as rain had stopped play.

Lewis had had a telephone call off the Head Chef where he has managed to get an apprenticeship advising him of his rota for the coming week. Again Lewis was on a high & looking forward to working & of course earning some money.

Later on Saturday afternoon we called over to see Sam & Matt as it’s Matt’s birthday this week. Sam looks bigger than ever now with only about 8 weeks to go until baby is due. Even though Sam looks big she looks really healthy. Matt was busy as usual cleaning up & then spending time fixing his van. Later in the afternoon Drew & Fran caught up with us too.

Fran kindly brought some home-made jammy dodgers for me. Fran they were delicious nom nom nom.

Saturday night was spent watching a little TV.

I also caught up with Le Tour (http://www.letour.fr/indexTDF_us.html) once they’d all gone to bed to see Bradley Wiggins manage to get hold of the maillot jaune (yellow jersey), here’s to 2 more weeks of racing & hopefully keeping hold of it at the end of July in Paris.

Sunday was similar to Saturday wheer i was 1st up & spent time looking for safety shoes for Lewis for work – not an easy task on a Sunday but after a trip to Wigan we found some in Bolton.

Later Sunday afternoon I took the trampoline down in the garden & packed it away ready for selling on ebay.

I then watched Andy Murray get beat by Roger Federer in the Mens Wimbledon Final.
